We adhere to strict duties of confidentiality for all personal information obtained and given in good faith by sponsors and donors.

Collection and Management of Personal Information

Collection of personal information is only when it is necessary and when it is supplied with consent.

Personal information that is provided by you may be used but not limited to:

  • Processing of donations and receipts
  • Responding to enquiries
  • Communicating with you about Tasmanian Eye Institute

Access to Personal Information

Personal information obtained will only be used and seen, in all circumstances, by people working at Tasmanian Eye Institute and contracted service providers, who are bound by privacy legislation, unless personal information is required to be disclosed due to public safety, law enforcement or financial transactions reasons.

Reasonable steps are taken to ensure that personal information obtained is protected from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Personal information is stored electronically and in hard copy, and will be destroyed when no longer needed.

The website is secured by a firewall and anti-virus software to ensure, as far as practicable, that electronic database is not accessible by unauthorised parties. Secure pages are protected by an SSL certificate.

Unfortunately, security measures are limited when it comes to the internet, as it is inherently insecure. All unencrypted information exchanged via the internet may be accessible to unauthorised parties. Consequently, any unencrypted information transmitted is provided at the provider’s own risk.

Online donations are processed in real time using a secure payment gateway and processed in Australia in Australian Dollars.
